Eastern Property Services was awarded the Melbourne City Baths Remediation Works project in February 2021.

These works were critical to maintain and preserve Australia’s oldest bathing site. Remedial works include tuck-pointing to restore the banded brickwork, and replacing the zinc fish-scale tiles on the cupolas. While the timber ceiling planks were repaired and repainted in the pool halls, new skylights were installed and the walls and steel columns repaired and refinished.

During the remediation the City Baths had to remain open. This required substantial scaffolding over the pool areas and made use of our experience in operating in busy public spaces, requiring operational and safety expertise to work under challenging circumstances.

The project was completed in February 2022.
